NEW UNFPA DIRECTOR IN SIERRA LEONE REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO THE HANDS OFF OUR GIRLS CAUSE.

The new country Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Dr. Nestor Azandegbe on Tuesday 16th March paid a courtesy call on Her Excellency Fatima Maada Bio. He said he was impressed with the impact the Office of the First Lady is having on Sierra Leone and he is here to pledge UNFPA continued support.

Her Excellency said she was honoured to have UNFPA on board. UNFPA and her office have similar vision for Sierra Leone, this makes working in unity is so much easier. She was appreciative of the support from UNFPA, with specific mention of the dignity kit donated by UNFPA that is been given out to our school children with the free sanitary pads.

Dr. Azandegbe said he believes in being in the frontline with the “Hands-on” approach to development. He said he will be on ground with the First Lady during the distribution process, so he will also interact with the children.

The technical team from both office will have scheduled brainstorming meetings, to improve on the strategy they will employ in protecting and educating our girls.
