First Lady Fatima Maada Bio Receives Relief Items from Nigeria’s First Lady

In a bid to support the efforts of Her Excellency the First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone, with respect to promoting peace and support women, youth and children in the country, the African First Ladies Peace Mission, through its President H.E Dr. Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has donated 400 bags of 10kg rice, 30 cartons of nutrition milk and 2,000 exercise books to Her Excellency Dr. Fatima Maada Bio for onward distribution to less privileged children in Sierra Leone. 

The presentation was done by the Nigerian High Commissioner to Sierra Leone, His Excellency Henry John Omaku at the Goderich Office of the First Lady of Sierra Leone on Wednesday 29th March 2023. 

In his presentation, the Nigerian High Commissioner extends gratitude to Dr. Fatima Bio on behalf of the First Lady of Nigeria for accepting the donation.

He said the donation was inspired by the excellent work of Dr. Bio with regards to promoting and protecting women, girls, youth and children across the country. 

He added that the donation was meant to complement the work of the First Lady of Sierra Leone and to demonstrate appreciation towards her good work.

Her Excellency the First Lady Dr. Fatima Maada Bio described the donation as timely, especially so as it came at a time when Muslims were observing the Holy Month of Ramadan and the Christians observing Lent. 

She expressed her gratitude to the African First Ladies Peace Mission for their support towards her cause in Sierra Leone.

Dr. Fatima Maada Bio went on to appreciate the President of the African First Ladies Peace Mission Her Excellency Dr. Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari the First Lady of the Republic of Nigeria for her dedication and commitment towards keeping the peace mission alive.

The First Lady assured the High Commissioner that the donated items will be distributed evenly to the deserved beneficiaries.
