FIRST LADY ATTENDS NATIONAL GIRLS SUMMIT.

Her Excellency the First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Mrs. Fatima Maada Bio on Wednesday 26th October 2022 was the distinguished Guest Speaker at the National Girls Summit held at the Family Kingdom, Aberdeen, Freetown.

The National Girls Summit is a platform through which girls are nurtured and their leadership skills enhanced for future challenges.

It equally serves as an opportunity for networking and experience sharing between and among delegates.

The Mother of the Nation, who addressed the girls in a ‘language’ and tone they understand better, reminded them that all they should do these days is to focus on their educational pursuit as the burden of school fees now exclusively rests in the hands of a responsible and caring government.

Through His Excellency’s Free Quality Education Scheme, she said, girls have been taking the lead in all public examinations across the country.

She challenged the girls that they can do more through hard work and dedication to their studies.

“I would like you to know today that your destinies are in your hands,” she emphasized, while encouraging them to step up to the challenge and take their rightful positions in society.

According to the First Lady, education is a human rights which should be enjoyed by everyone.

She concluded by advising the girls to desist from spending too much of their time on social media and focus on their studies.
