I represented my country at the OIC conference. It was aimed at promoting cancer awareness and advocacy programs in the OIC African Member States held in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso on 1st – 2nd August 2018.
We have organisations within Sierra Leone doing as much as they can with very limited resources in combating cancer. The inconvenient truth is, what is being done is not enough. Cancer is still a major threat in our country.
In line with the programmes of national and international organisations, my office will pursue national cancer programmes geared towards:
1. Cancer Prevention
2. Early Detection
3. Treatment
4. Palliative care.
