A prominent stakeholder of the All People’s Congress (APC) party in the person of Alhaji Moijueh Kaikai, the Independent Member of Parliament of Constituency 100 Hon. Shiaka Musa Sama, both from Pujehun District, and hundreds of other opposition members and supporters, have declared their support for the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) ahead of the June 24 General Elections.
The Former Minister of Social Welfare, Gender and Children’s Affairs, Deputy Minister of Labour and Resident Minister South during the APC reign under former President Ernest Bai Koroma’s governance, Alhaji Moijueh Kaikai, is the latest among hundreds of members and supporters of the main opposition APC joining the ruling SLPP party.
Alhaji Moijueh Kaikai said his decision to support the SLPP was influenced by the enviable and sustainable development projects ushered in by the Maada Bio-led Government which patriotic Sierra Leoneans appreciate.
“President Bio has directly and indirectly touched the lives of every Sierra Leonean through his implementation of various human capital development programmes including Free Quality Education, free sanitary pads for girls and various gender and women’s empowerment reforms including the 30% quota law, among others,” Kaikai highlighted.
He called on all well meaning Sierra Leoneans to support the true “action betteh pass intention” agenda of President Bio for a better Sierra Leone. He actually meant in English that citizens must follow the truth.
Similar sentiments were expressed by Hon. Shiaka Sama who vowed to take leadership in the district to ensure President Bio gets a second term on the first ballot.
Welcoming the ‘prodigal’ sons from the APC, the Leader of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Brigadier Retired Dr. Julius Maada Bio expressed thanks and appreciations to the stakeholders of Pujehun District for bringing back their sons.
He welcomed all the converts into the party and pleaded with the party leadership regionally and nationally to accept and treat them equally.
The First Lady Her Excellency Dr. Fatima Maada Bio revealed that the amount of love and trust the people of Pujehun have showed her husband was too much for her to explain.
“I want to say I am grateful to all of you for the love, respect and support you are giving to my husband. Your coming together under the umbrella of SLPP is the last straw that breaks the APC in Pujehun District,” she said.
