Her Excellency, Madam Fatima Maada Bio was visiting the site following the turning of the sod some eight month ago. The 100-bed hospital is to support health care delivery and infrastructure in the country.

The visit is also to show her continual commitment towards the project and to assess the progress at the construction site. She said the project is at the heart of the President’s flagship program of Human Capital development, in Education, Health, and food security.

During the turning of the sod in December 2020, the first Lady in her statement said that they were celebrating the military, and the idea of project came from her visit to the hospital in 2015 when she realised the hospital needed a facelift.

She said her commitment to the 34 military hospital was drawn from her husband who believes in the military. She emphasised the president wants the hospital be completed and operational as soon as possible.

“We are good people and I want to encourage and inspire every Sierra Leonean to change their attitudes for the good of our country.” H.E Fatima Bio said.
