In a strategic move towards advancing national development, Sierra Leone’s President, Dr. Julius Maada Bio, his wife, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, and delegation from Sierra Leone engaged in a crucial meeting with Leone Rock Metal Group in China. This significant encounter took place on February 29th, 2024, signifying a concerted effort to strengthen collaborative initiatives between Sierra Leone and Leone Rock Metal Group, a notable subsidiary under the Kingho Group in China.

The meeting began with customary opening protocols as Leone Rock Metal Group extended a warm welcome to the Sierra Leone delegation, expressing their pleasure at hosting His Excellency and the First Lady during their official state visit. The Sierra Leone delegation reciprocated these sentiments, marking the commencement of substantive discussions.

Key discussions included a comprehensive presentation by a representative of Leone Rock Metal Group’s Chief Technical Officer (CTO), outlining the current and prospective projects the group is undertaking in Sierra Leone.

Mr. Colin Ding, the Chairman of Leone Rock Metal Group, acknowledged President Bio’s presence and shed light on the business landscape in Sierra Leone. He emphasised the company’s dedication to aligning with President Bio’s visionary “Big 5” agenda, presenting their strategic plans for active contribution to the country’s development over the next few years.

President Bio expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and acknowledged Sierra Leone’s enthusiasm for close collaboration with Leone Rock Metal Group. The meeting stands as a crucial step towards fostering a meaningful partnership for the collective advancement of Sierra Leone’s developmental goals and the strategic objectives of Leone Rock Metal Group.
