Sierra Leone’s President Dr. Julius Maada Bio, accompanied by his esteemed wife, First Lady Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, made a noteworthy arrival at the Gambia International Airport. Their visit marks participation in the upcoming 15th OIC Banjul Summit, slated for May 4–5, 2024.

The summit’s focal theme, “Enhancing Unity and Solidarity Through Dialogue for Sustainable Development,” underscores the importance of collaborative efforts in fostering enduring progress. At its core, the gathering seeks to harness the power of dialogue to address pressing global challenges and drive sustainable development initiatives.

Established in 1969, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) serves as a pivotal intergovernmental body uniting 57 nations with Muslim-majority populations. With its overarching mission to promote solidarity and cooperation among member states, the OIC addresses multifaceted political, economic, social, and cultural issues confronting the Muslim world.
