The Former Running Mate of the Coalition for Change Party (C4C) Hon. David Bai Conteh and host of other former APC Honorable members of Parliament have surrendered their support to the Leader of the Ruling Sierra Leone Peopleโ€™s Party Dr. Julius Maada Bio.

The Declaration ceremony was done during the President’s Thank the People visit in Magbas Tonkolili District on Saturday 29th April 2023.

The declarant includes the former Running Mate for C4C, Hon. David Bai Conteh, APC Hon. Mohamed Albert Tarawally (aka MAT), Former APC Hon. Mohamed Bash Taqi, Alimamy Palmon Sesay of NGC, and the famous Tickler M. Conteh of the APC.

Highlighting the reason for their declarations to the SLPP, Hon Mohamed Albert Tarawally (MAT) commended the President and the SLPP government for considering the people of Tonkolili in their development agenda.

He admitted that over the past five years, the president and his government have succeeded in giving more to the people of Tonkolili than the ten years rule of the APC.

“We were not respected in the APC; they see us as nobody, we need to prove to them that Tonkolili District was dominated by SLPP and that lost glory will be revived with the support of the party structures in the District” he said.

He pleaded to the president on behalf of the Tonkolili people and his fellow declarants to construct the road linking the North and the South through Yele. He assured the president of their unflinching support in re-electing him at first ballot come 2023 general elections.

President Bio expressed his appreciation to the regional and district executive for their determination to make the job easy for him in Tonkolili come June 2023. He maintained that Tonkolili District had always been green, and it high time, the district returned to its past glory.

He explained to the people of Magbas some of the achievements of the SLPP led government, ranging from Education, Rural Electrification, Agriculture, Infrastructure, International Recognitions and host of other achievements the SLPP government have attained in the last five years.

He assured the people of Magbas that his government will reopen the Magbas sugar factory so as to create more jobs for the youth in Tonkolili and make the district more attractive to the world.
