President of the Republic of Sierra Leone and his wife the First Lady, Brig. Rtd. Julius Maada Bio and Dr. Fatima Maada Bio respectively had wonderful moments with natives and residents of Bonthe District โ€“ Tihun, Sogbini Chiefdom, Naijeh, Bauya, Tongo Field and Kanga Junction, among other communities, as part of activities to mark the start of the New Year.

This yearโ€™s activities are part of the First Familyโ€™s annual tradition long before the election of President Bio in 2018.

Hundreds of bags of rice, gallons of oil, sachets of salts, were among the food and non-food items distributed to especially vulnerable and needy citizens.

First Lady Mrs. Fatima Maada Bio says the venture is a sacred responsibility as her family cherishes an ideal world where no one should go to bed hungry, especially in this festive season.

She encouraged the beneficiaries and every other Sierra Leonean to remain strong and courageous as we work towards a better Sierra Leone for all.

โ€Our interventions are a demonstration of the love and concern we have for the wellbeing of fellow Sierra Leoneans,โ€ she noted.

From orphan kids, disables to women, the beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the support rendered by the first family, while expressing admiration for the humility and selflessness being demonstrated by the First Lady.
