





The First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio paid a courtesy call on the President of The Gambia, H.E Adama Barrow, after receiving the Honorary Doctorate Degree in the West African country.
At the Gambian State House, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio was welcomed and congratulated by the Gambian President, who urged her to continue her service to humanity and nation building.
Dr. Fatima Maada Bio used the platform as an opportunity to thank President Barrow for all the support he has been rendering to Sierra Leone and Sierra Leoneans, with special reference to those living in The Gambia.
She re-echoed how the Gambian government recently revised its resident permit policy for the benefit of Sierra Leoneans living in the sister West African country.
She used the forum as an opportunity to communicate various concerns raised by the Sierra Leonean community including the foreign students fee policy that is affecting the Sierra Leonean populace seeking higher education in The Gambia.
The First Lady has since returned to Sierra Leone in the evening hours of Tuesday June 7 2022 and was greeted with a grand welcome by Sierra Leoneans from various works of life who converged and spent hours at the airport waiting celebrate their brand new doctor with thunderous drumming and singing.
